Aries (21 March 19 April)

General characteristics:

Fire sign, ruled by Mars and Pluto. The Ram possesses much strength and energy, and is always ready to take the initiative. He is instinctive and dynamic and often acts without considering the possible consequences. As the first sign of the zodiac he symbolises Spring and embodies energy, impulsivity, independence and courage.
The Ram is often accused of being self-centred. But he can often be very romantic and longs for affection and support. In his professional life, just as in his private life, he tends to take up positions of leadership. The professions that most suit the Ram are: designer, salesperson, writer, lawyer, politician and actor, and all professions requiring a great deal of responsibility and an unusual life. The Ram is the liveliest of all the star signs, he likes to play sport often as a way of unwinding and giving free rein to his energy.
Sometimes his way of expressing himself can be forceful and rather abrupt. He experiences his feelings of love ardently, but he is not a model of faithfulness. The true Ram loves adventure and speed. Orderliness is not his strength, whether at home or at work. Taurus (20 April 20 May)

General characteristics:

Taurus is ruled by Venus, so the Bull needs no textbook to teach him the arts of seduction. He is guided by his emotions and quick to take possession. The Bull knows what he wants and in his stubbornness can become unreasonable. When he is after something he wont let go, even if he has to resort to tears, threats and anger. If you get involved with a Bull, you must be prepared to give in.
Bulls are usually characterised by a good understanding of other people. They are constructive, stable and do not shy away from hard work. Obstacles just make them more persistent.
You should be wary of telling him what to do. Whatever you want to do, you shouldnt provoke the Bull. He is indeed peaceful, but once his anger is triggered, he can fly into a rage. He finds it hard to forgive and forget. The Bull inclines to jealousy. He would like to keep all his possessions. He is a persistent collector and finds it hard to separate himself from something.
He can be a difficult friend as he is sometimes overcritical. He is only lenient to people who leave him cold. He is obstinate enough to fight even for lost causes, but seldom does anything that only serves others. He is too egocentric for that.
Bulls are mostly impatient. They want results immediately. They strive to reach their goal but often waste their energy and act with too much movement and excitement, because they pay too little attention to little things and want to clear them out of the way.

Gemini (20 May 20 June)

General characteristics:

Gemini is always in motion, from one place to another, from one person to another, from one activity to another. Restless, nervy, he is never satisfied with living one day at a time, but always wants to squeeze a week or a month into one day and to live on several levels at the same time. Whatever he may be doing, he always yearns to be doing something else. He wallows in contradictions.
If he has feelings, of whatever kind, his first priority is always instinctively to try to conceal them. He cannot bear timetables. You must not expect him to stick to mealtimes or to go to bed or wake up at a regular time. He cannot be a prisoner of the clock.
He is exceptionally intelligent and is a good talker. And how he loves to talk! He juggles with several subjects and throws them all up in the air at the same time. You shouldnt try to win a war of words with him. Words are weapons for him. He is a fascinating, multifaceted, intellectual person who is constantly almost painfully conscious of other peoples reactions to him. When tackling a plan or an activity he reveals great energy, but he often finds it hard to keep at it. He falls in love easily and seizes almost every chance to do this. But he is also searching for his freedom and will not suppress his self in order to please. Routine in love bores him.

Cancer (21 June 22 July)

General characteristics:

You cannot read a Cancer like an open book, because he always shows strangers an impenetrable side. He is immersed in secrets, which he never reveals even to his closest friend. He is restless, inclined to brooding, is an idealist and a very sentimental dreamer. He is ruled by the waxing and waning Moon, so emotionally he experiences wonderful highs and lows, and is able to take other people with him in this or that direction. When you first meet him he may appear jovial and flirty, but this is just one of his moods. Next time he can be dark and unfriendly. You never know exactly where you are with him. Even when you get to know him better you are still confused by his changing moods. Perhaps he will suddenly flare up angrily. But when you respond to it, he apologises with remorse.
He is polite and gallant, a charmer of the old school. He loves the company of other people and witty conversations. He likes talking and is often very eloquent. His incredible memory is a great advantage to him in discussions. He is sensitive, insecure and sentimental, does not like being separated from friends, old habits or his home. He constantly needs reassurance that he is loved. He himself is unconditionally faithful and he needs this from his partner too. He believes in everlasting love.

Leo (23 July 22 August)

The Lion wants to be noticed wherever he goes. He is very attractive. When he comes into a room all eyes are upon him. He loves being outdoors where the Sun, his mistress, shines. He loves sporting competition, where he distinguishes himself. You might think he would fear the inevitable defeat that everyone has to experience now and then. But the Lion can even turn defeat into victory! That is his big entrance.
The Lion is decidedly extrovert. He loves to laugh. He is no bigmouth or bluffer, but occasionally he can be a tyrant. He loves to wallow in luxury and finds the best is not good enough for him. But it usually works out all right because whatever belongs to him is the best in his eyes. He wont argue about that.
When it comes to falling in love, the sparks must fly or better still, turn into a fire of pleasure. He plays with life, with love and with money. He is open-handed and is a valuable friend. In times of need he will run great risks and dangers to guarantee the security of those he loves.
He is usually loved. Even those who find it hard to live with his ego for long have nothing personal against him. They like him but from a distance. He is angry if things dont go his way and does not tolerate being contradicted.

Ruled by Mercury, the planet of logical thought, she has a sharp intellect and excels at brain work. She is interested in almost everything that is needed for her personal advancement. The first thing she wants to know about other people is whether they have money and how they use it. She believes it is a sin to waste money, because for her it is the standard by which to measure the achievements and value of other people.
No one can persuade a Virgo into an adventure involving risk. An instinct warns her when she is skating on thin ice.
When choosing her friends and partners, she is ruled by an ability for fine differentiation. She is seldom wrong in this. She acts by the motto a burned child fears the flame. As she expects others to live by her standards, she is often overly critical. Which is not exactly helpful when you want to win friends. She also finds it hard to flatter people. She is usually of a nervous disposition and needs peaceful surroundings to give of her best. She is methodical and reliable, but because of her modesty she does not always find the recognition she deserves.

Libra strives for balance and harmony. She cannot accept that life may be a seesaw. She has to run hither and thither in order to find balance. Her sensitive nature is at its happiest when the world around her is tidy and happy. She is not usually a sporting type, and sporting events dont matter to her. She is a good conversationalist and expects the same from others. So you have to make an effort at this. She is friendly, has a strong sense of justice and gives everyone a chance. She is tactful, diplomatic and has a sense of humour. Because of her loving and peaceable nature, she takes injustices hard. She approves of adaptability and compromise, if it is a question of reconciling opposing parties. But because she finds it hard to make up her mind immediately and clearly, she tends to put off difficult decisions. She often needs a partner who will relieve her of unproductive tasks. She will achieve what is in her mind, but at the same time will avoid passing judgement or becoming involved personally. If she doesnt get her own way, then behind the reasonable, friendly, tolerant exterior you will discover a totally different person. She has very correct intuition just dont try to deceive her. It is easy to understand why people are drawn to him like steel filings to a magnet. They respond to his totally hypnotic sensuality. He combines charm and strength of character in equal parts. He seems to have so much energy that he gives it off into the atmosphere. The Scorpion never forgets an act of friendship, never forgives an insult and if he is wounded he can think only of revenge. In his interpersonal dealings is a mixture of conflict and discord. He is intense, obstinate and unforgiving.
He would like to be independent, but needs someone to lean on. Although he himself is emotionally unstable, he despises weaknesses in others. He has an enormous strength of will and resolve. When he falls in love he does not want to feel that he is signing a contract. Sagittarians are open and speak out freely. He is very dependable and you can rely on him always to keep a promise.
As a friend he is easy to get along with, open and tolerant, but he is also a perfectionist. Unfortunately he is also subject to moods and depression. He often suffers from nerves. When you say a friendly Good Night and try to show him the door, he will certainly put his foot in the way. He doesnt take no for an answer. A rebuff is never a rebuff; he will just keep trying until he breaks down all resistance. For the Capricorn love is as important as food and drink. You will probably notice on first meeting him that this earthy, pleasure-driven star sign expects his partner to fit in with his wishes. He is passionate, sensuous and cannot bear rejection.
He cannot accept roughness or prudery, and hates wasting time. Deep down he needs the certainty that he is loved. He demands a lot because he wants you to be totally connected to him. If you massage his ego enough and clearly let him know that you feel good in his company, he will let himself be chained. He is faithful! He would rather be at home than party hopping. He is focussed on money and is careful, clever, calculating and uncompromising with it. He will always do what he regards as his duty. If his will clashes with someone elses, dont expect any compromises from him. Even if he seems to be giving in, actually he is only playing for time. Unfortunately you never quite know what he is plotting. He is a passionate supporter of purposefulness. He knows that all the talent in the world is useless if you dont work hard. That is the key to his success, in love and at work.

The first contact must take place on the intellectual level. He has to respect a partner as a person, before he is open to other charms. The Aquarian definitely doesnt like to go it alone. He is generous, open-minded, very interested in other people. In fact he is only happy when he is involved in other peoples lives.
